"Voice" ArtFull Moment for the week of May 25, 2011

Hi again.  It has been a while since I have posted in here.  I  think I have figured out a way to include this blog on the web site for Estrella Fine Art and ArtFull Moments.  Maybe this will help to create some conversations.

Meanwhile, I keep on creating ArtFull Moments Messages, GIVING them away in the Wednesday emails, and more people than ever are accepting. I guess that is some sort of progress. My Facebook ads have brought many new subscribers, and I am grateful for that.

I have noticed the web is INUNDATED with preachy advice givers. That inspired this week's Moment. I never presume to dispense Wisdom...Words words words. I'd rather connect you to your own wisdom, say just enough for you to take it the rest of the way. Maybe take you someplace new via the photo, where you can reach a new vision for yourself. This could be an odd idea. Odd or not, it seems worth doing.

Another odd thing: No one has bought anything from the brand new Online Gallery, as of yet. Maybe the new subscribers did not scroll down to the bottom of their welcome emails to notice their 20% off coupon. No one has replied yet to the little survey on the web site, where I ask questions about how you like what I've done, and what can I do better. Is anybody OUT THERE? If an artist screams in a forest, but there's nobody to hear her, does she make a sound? Where does her voice go? Emmie

"Stuck" ArtFull Moment April 20, 2011

"Stuck" ArtFull Moment by Emmie Derise April 20, 2011

I said in this week's ArtFull Moment comment that being stuck is so uncomfortable, it forces us to try new things in order to get ourselves unstuck. It seems that this is a common condition these days, judging from the email comments I have received. Hello?  If there is anybody out there...are you feeling stuck?  Are you feeling as if options are limited?  Have you tried everything that used to work before but does not work anymore?  I do, and I have.  I await your helpful hints. (Not holding my breath, though).

Hi All!  Medium news to report this week along with this week's ArtFull Moment message about the promises of spring (see link above).  I have begun work on a new website dedicated to Artfull moments where you will be able to buy them as 18 x 24 or 22 x 28 prints, reasonably priced, unframed or framed.  Will let you know more as we make progress.

Also, I decided to hold over the ongoing ArtFull Moments Show & Sale at Estrella Fine Art through April 15 instead of APril 2.  This includes the 25% off prices on 40  fine art quality giclees with archival framing.  Here is a link to the virtual tour of the gallery and the show.  If you are local, it's well worth a detour to  see the show.  You will come away feeling great, with the positive messages of ArtFull Moments.  View Virtual Tour

ArtFull Moment March 2, 2011: Peas Be With You

Hi again, everyone.  I'm not just playing with food again in this week's ArtFull Moment.  I'm just looking for some levity while lightening the load.

It's still early morning, and already Virginia has responded :

"Beautiful show and done with great taste!  Love the message in "Peas"
so approbate for the times were living.  Thank you!"

Many thanks to all who came to the Opening of the ArtFull Moments show last Friday.  It means a lot to interrupt your routine to wish someone well.  You took the time, showed love, and showered my work with compliments.  Thank you.

We put so much time, hard physical work, and money into every show.  Over the 18 years I have been in the art business, I am warmed by considerateness of friends who come to the gallery and/or send good wishes. I also crash every after every show opening, wounded by general public apathy.  I suppose the push to create an astonishing and beautiful presentation is so great, it may be unrealistic to think that any turnout will ever seem like enough.  Yet, it seems that the general public, whoever they are, does attend many functions, just never any of mine.  For everyone who was too busy to bother to come, here is a virtual tour of the gallery.

The show is much more powerful in person.  Free to look & enjoy.

I'm off now to regain my "Inner Peas."  Emmie

Opening Reception - Eve - Appropriate ArtFull Moment Message

This week's ArtFull Moment, "Rebuild" seems to be resonating with many.  Betty's comment from Saranac Lake, NY:

"This is such a good message for me right now.  All of us are rebuilding in some way.  I'm "rebuilding" my body as I recover from a back injury.  I've set this Artfull Moment as my desktop background so I can remind myself of this good message very time I sit down at my computer.  Thank you, Emmie!"

Yes, and with the Opening reception tomorrow  for the first-ever Fine Photography Show for ArtFull Moments, we are rebuilding here, too. Here's my explanation of this week's moment:

About this Week's ArtFull Moment:  "Offer"
This shot was taken at the Tuzigoot National Monument, an example of "late stage" pueblo construction, inhabited approx. 1100.  Located near Clarkdale and Cottonwood, AZ, southwest of Sedona, this ruin occupies a hilltop, with panoramic views for many miles.  Standing alone on the top lookout level gave me pause to ponder:  One thought, one deed, one stone at a time, a legacy is built.     Emmie

Please subscribe, and share with friends, if you know anyone who can benefit from this work.

And if you are in Arizona, please join us at Estrella Fine Art, 15716 N. 76th St., 2nd floor of the Papagno Marble & Granite building, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.  Directions are on Google and http://www.estrellafineart.com/  The ArtFull Moments show includes more than 40 framed moments, archival quality.  Prices range from $60 to $385.00.  We also have a large selection of the magnetic laminated 8 x 10 ($10) and 4 x 5 Moments ($3).  The entire Estrella Fine Art Collection is also on view: over 1,000 affordable original works, paintings, etchings, handmade prints, and sculpture. We are having a drawing for prizes at the show closing reception April 2.  Hope to meet you soon !   Emmie
